PRESIDENT Cheddi Jagan of Guyana says he's had enough with CARICOM and LIAT.

"I'm a little fed up with all of that now," he told reporters in Barbados
yesterday during a stopover on his way to Jamaica for the CARICOM summit
starting tomorrow.

"We spent so much time and energy to get the LIAT thing sorted out and after
the last CARICOM Summit meeting here we thought the matter was sorted out. . .
.and then some new things came in, Carib Express is it?"

Jagan said that he had not been paying much attention to the new developments,
but left them up to his aviation minister.

"All I know is the superficialities I have been reading in the newspaper. . .
but it is tragic that we cannot arrive at a decision on questions like these
and sometimes allow people from outside the region to dictate what must be
done in our part of the world," he said.

Carib Express is expected to take to the skies sometime early in the new year
to compete against LIAT.
