A STOP-THE-GREENLAND-LOBBY has been started on the Internet.
The site, maintained by a student at a Swedish university, opened the page for e-mail "signatures" to be posted in a letter addressed to Prime Minister Owen Arthur.
It reads: "We the undersigned would like to express our disgust at the blatant destruction of our national heritage and park at Greenland, St. Andrew. We respectfully beseech you to use the powers of your office to put a stop to this abominable project."
There are ten "signatures" two from Barbados, one from France, two from Canada, two from the United States, one from The Netherlands, one from England and one from Sweden. The plan to move its garbage landfill from Mangrove Pond, St. Thomas to Greenland received some criticism. Government has recently announced that the facility will be opened this year.
